Warehouses

Through the Warehouse module, you can create and manage your warehouses, as well as track their inventory. To learn more about the warehouse module or to have it enabled on your B2B Wave account, please contact our support team.

In this article, we’ll explore how you can create your warehouses. We will also break down the process of updating product inventory for each warehouse and assigning customers to specific warehouses.

NOTE: The Warehouse module works seamlessly with B2B Waves’ built-in inventory features. It can also integrate with accounting, shipping, and ERP systems to keep your inventory synchronized across all channels

Creating Warehouses

You can quickly and easily create warehouses through your B2B Wave platform. Let’s see how you can do this:

Step 1. Contact our support to activate the Warehouse feature on your account.

Step 2. Go to the Admin Panel and navigate to Settings >Warehouses, then click “+New warehouse.”

Step 3. On the “New warehouse” page, fill in the necessary information. 

Specifically, here you need to add the following information:

Code* Enter the warehouse unique code (e.g., WH-UTH-01)
Name* Add the warehouse name (e.g., Salt Lake)
Default Check this box to set this warehouse as your default. Otherwise, leave unchecked

Step 4. Click “Save” to create the warehouse.

Assigning Product Quantity for Warehouses

Once you create your warehouses, you can edit and update product inventory for each of them with the following steps:

Step 1. Go to Products >Products and select the item for which you want to update the quantity.

Step 2. On the “Editing product” page, go to the “Inventory” tab and type in the relevant quantities under the “Quantity” field for each warehouse.

Step 3. Check “Track inventory” to enable inventory tracking for this product. Otherwise, leave unchecked. 

Step 4. Click “Save” to update product quantity.

NOTE: Remember to check the “Allow backorder” box if you want to allow backorders for this item. Otherwise, leave unchecked.

Updating Product Quantity for Warehouses in Bulk

You can mass-update product quantities across your warehouses. To do so, follow these steps:

Step 1. Go to Products >Export, make the appropriate selection, and then click “Export” to download the file. Learn more about importing and exporting products from your B2B Wave platform here.

Step 2. Open the spreadsheet and look for the column(s) with your warehouse(s) name. Then, update product quantity for each warehouse.

Step 3. Go to Products >Import. Then, click “Choose File” to upload your file, and click “Import.” Remember that your file should be in .xlsx format.

Assigning Warehouses to Customers

Assigning warehouses to customers helps you control where you fulfill their orders and better manage your inventory. Follow the steps below to match warehouses to customers.

Step 1. Go to the Customers menu on your Admin Panel and click on the customer you want to assign to a warehouse.

Step 2. On the “Editing customer” page, stay on the “Customer details” tab and scroll down to the “Warehouse” field. Select the warehouse you want to assign to the customer from the drop-down menu. Next, click “Save.”

Updating Customer Warehouses in Bulk

You can mass assign warehouses to your customers through these steps: 

Step 1. Go to the Tools >Import Customers and click “export existing customers.” See here how you can import and export customers.

Step 2. Open the downloaded file and look for the “warehouse” column. Next, type in the appropriate warehouse code (e.g, WH-BEL-01). 

Step 3. Go to Tools >Import Customers and upload your file by clicking “Choose File” and then “Import.” Remember that your file should be in .xlsx format.
