Measurement Units
You can create measurement units for your products and specify their physical dimensions, such as height, width, and length, for your customers to see. Let’s see how you can do this.
Creating and Assigning Measurement Units Manually
To set a measurement unit, follow these steps:
Step 1. Go to Settings >Measurement unit and click “+New measurement unit.”
Step 2. On the “New measurement unit,” enter the name of the measurement unit, and click “Save” to create the measurement unit.
Step 3. Go to Products >Products and click on the product you want to assign a measurement unit. Then, insert the product’s dimensions, if applicable, and select the appropriate option from the “Dimensions: Measurement unit.” If your product has another unit (e.g., pack), choose it from the “Measurement unit” drop-down menu, and click “Save.”
Customers will be able to see products’ measurement units on your storefront.
Mass Assigning Measurement Units
You can assign measurement units and set dimensions in bulk with these steps:
Step 1. Go to the Products >Export on the Admin Panel, make your selections, and click “Export” to download your product list.
Step 2. Look for the “dimension_measurement_unit” column and enter the default measurement unit for your products. Remember that this variable reflects only the physical dimension of products. You should also further specify products’ dimensions by typing in the appropriate values under the “length,” “width,” and “height” columns. If this does not apply, leave the cells in these columns empty.
Step 3. Move to the “product_unit” column and enter the measurement unit’s name (e.g., cm, weight, box). If you want to add product weight, edit the “weight” column.
Step 4. Go to Products >Import, click “Choose File,” and “Import” to upload the file. Remember that your file should be in .xlsx format.
